Forget about indulging yourself in those baked goodies that contain high level of gluten. You will only make yourself sick if you insist on eating those types of food. To stay healthy, you need to switch to gluten free food. Eating gluten free food is not really that bad. In fact, once you get used to the idea of eating gluten free food, you will no longer crave for food with gluten content.
Getting Into The Gluten Free Diet
It is important to get into a gluten free diet as soon as you are diagnosed with celiac disease. The earlier you start eating gluten free food, the better off you will be. The best way to start a gluten free diet is to follow the recommendations of your doctor. Pay close attention to your doctor when he or she gives you a rundown of the kind of food that you should or should not eat. If you have some questions regarding you gluten free diet, you should not hesitate to ask your doctor about. Remember that you have the right to know when it comes to your health so make sure that you ask questions if you have doubts or if you do not understand what your doctor is talking about. It would also be a good idea to take down notes regarding the kind of food that you should eat. Make a list of the food that your doctor recommends. This way, it will easier for you to remember them.
Since the list of foods that your doctor may give you will be limited, it is up to you to do some further research on what types of food you should eat. Check the online community of people who are suffering from celiac disease and ask for advice from the members as to what type of food you should eat. Most of these people have been on gluten free food for quite sometime so they should be able to give you some recipes that you can use at home.
Aside from asking the members of the online community for recipes, you should also ask them where you can eat gluten free food when you want to eat out. You may not be aware of it but there are a number of gluten free fast foods and restaurants all over the country. Most these places serve your favorite food minus the gluten content.
